“Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service installed a system from Prime Satellite Broadband onto our Incident Command Unit in 2005. Since then the system has been deployed at numerous large incidents, most notably the Gloucestershire Floods of 2007 where it was in operation 24/7 throughout. It has been used at national Fire Service exercises including Exercise Orpheus in 2008 and Exercise Senator in 2009. During 2009 the vehicle was one of three made available as interim Enhanced Command Support (ECS) vehicles, to support the ECS program nationally.

The satellite connectivity gives us access to email, Internet, voice over IP telephony, remote access, fax and video when relevant. During the five years it has been installed, the system has not suffered a hardware fault or failed to connect.
